Ludovico Einaudi, one of the world’s most famous contemporary pianists and composers, will perform for the first time in Croatia on June 10, in the Pula Arena. Known for his unique blend of minimalist classical and cinematic music, Einaudi’s evocative compositions have captivated audiences in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, La Scala and the Sydney Opera House.
His music, often described as hypnotic, deeply introspective and emotionally resonant, has been featured in award-winning films including “Nomadland” and “The Father”. This revolutionary composer and pianist, as of January 2022, holds the title of the most listened to classical artist of all time. He has surpassed 39 billion streams globally, and his monthly listeners on Spotify surpass those of classical giants like Mozart and Beethoven.
Ludovico Einaudi is coming to Croatia for the first time in the unique Pula Arena, where he will present his huge opus, as well as his latest, 17th album “The Summer Portraits”, which was released at the end of January this year, and marks the composer’s return to orchestral colors and sounds, in the flourishing of personal memories awakened by the sun, summer and family holidays.
The album “The Summer Portraits” immediately broke all classical music chart records by reaching the top of the Official UK Classical Albums Chart in its first week of release. The “Summer Portraits Tour” started on October 9, 2024 at the Lingotto Auditorium in Turin and continued in November in large venues in Europe, mostly sold out.
Ludovico Einaudi is an Italian pianist, composer, author of music for many films and television productions such as “Doctor Zhivago”, “Not of This World”, “Light of My Eyes”, “Strange Crime”, “This is England”, “The Untouchables”, “Samba”, “The water diviner”, “The third murder”.
His music was used in the films “Nomadland” (2020) directed by Chloé Zhao starring Frances McDormand and “The Father” directed by Florian Zeller (2020) starring Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman which won Oscars, Golden Globes, Golden Lions, and countless other awards.
Music connoisseurs often place him alongside names such as Michael Nyman or Philip Glass and place him in the genre of minimalism in classical music. In his music, he magically combines elements of classics, ambient electronics, soft rock and world music.
